So I decided to start my own dubstep project called Turn On Your Strobelight. Why? Because I feel like I want to actually "make" music and I lack in instrumental and vocal talent. Skrillex-Weekends!

Although this song is a little old, I just recently discovered it, so I figured it needed a blog post. Skrillex (Sonny Moore) is one of the leading producers on the dubstep scene today. He was originally in a screamo band called From First to Last, but then he decided to do something more electronic. This dubstep track is absolutely filthy, from the beginning to the end. Please support Skrillex by purchasing his albums and going to his shows. (There's one in Hartford on June 6, fyi.)

Dub Nation vs. Warped Tour: Paramore-CrushCrushCrush (Slof Man Dubstep Remix)

So I thought I'd end this Friday with a dubstep remix that I recently discovered. About three years ago before I discovered electronica I used to listen to a lot more of pop punk, and then I kind of grew out of it. This absolute banger remix by Slof Man, however, interprets Paramore's CrushCrushCrush in a new light. The bass wobble is extremely heavy and the vocals suit the song very well. Festival-Governor's Ball

A friend of mine is putting on an awesome one-day festival in NYC called the Governor's Ball on June 18th. The lineup included Girl Talk, Pretty Lights , Empire of the Sun and others. One of the great things about this festival is that there will be no overlapping sets. I'll be there, along with a few of my friends. Hopefully you'll be there too!

If anyone is in the metro NY area, check this absolute craziness out @StageOne in Fairfield, CT on Saturday.
